Toms River Girls Softball Team Honored at Town Hall
A group of young ladies ages 10 & under from Toms River were recently honored at Town Hall for their 2nd place finish at the "Jennie Finch Aces Invitational " over the weekend of October 10th and 11th. This was the first major Tournament that this Tornadoes team played in. Teams were represented from New York , NJ, Maryland,Delaware, & PA. and were over 45 teams in the tournament.
The Tornadoes played some fantastic games in the first day of pool play to advance to the second day of playoff games to get to the championship game.
The playoff game was the most exciting game at the tournament for the whole weekend. The umpires and Tournament Director could not believe the level of talent and dedication the girls displayed. The game had gone into International Tie Breaker, with the Tornadoes hitting a 2-run Home run to win the game and advance to the Championship game where they came up a little short in the last inning to lose the game to the Maryland, Crafton All Stars.
